The world of infant sleep can be SO loud and intimidating. Well-meaning relatives tell us seriously outdated advice. The unregulated sleep training industry sets parents up to believe that if their infant isn't sleeping through the night - they have a problem that can be solved with investing money in coaching or a course (often failing because babies can't actually be trained to sleep). Biologically normal infant sleep isn't normalized! Babies are not little adults - they have their own unique sleep architecture and there is SO MUCH we can do to support it - that doesn't involve disconnecting from our instincts and baby. If you're here, I've likely directed to you to this genuinely gentle place to land. These are my favorite resources to support biologically normal infant sleep by experts in the field who are neuroscience, attachment, development and trauma informed. Whoever you listen to make sure they understand infant neurobiology and their stress system. Good sleep is a human right, and babies need us to help them protect theirs.
